Google Earth

To add placemarks you just press the place marker tool which is the yellow thumbtack or use the shortkey shift+command+p

To customize a placemark just adjust the settings when you're adding the placemarker or if it's already made right click and press get info

Click the path tool to make lines and paths

To measure a line or a path right click, go to get info, and click measurements. To manually do it just go to tools-then click on ruler and measure. Examples of both are below.

Click on the polygon tool and draw the polygon. For an extruding polygon from surface just change/adjust the altitude

To put in text you just add a placemaker. In the setting you can at text and descriptions, I took off my monkey icon in order to show the text fully.

Click the record tour button and go to the places you want to show. I will email this file.

I measured the distance between Apalach and Eastpoint both manually and then with the directions tool on the lefthand side

Project 1 - Cool Find

Project 1 - Other Thoughts

Overall when I was creating this project I had one sickle cell like you see below. I lived this look so I decided to keep adding cells. Instead of putting a series of cells on one page I wish I would have just done a series but had them on different pages. This type of photos series may have had a more successful outcome.

Project 1 Process - Photos

These are some of the photos that my sketches were based on. I wanted to take a series of photos with different poses that would encompass the "feel" of personal without telling the viewer too much of the story. This ambiguity helps the viewer want to explore more layers of the piece.

Project 1 Process - Correspondence

Here is some of the correspondence between my family and I for my project 1. My dad has nine brothers and sisters so we have a pretty large family and it was a little harder than I expected to get information from them because I would ask one family member and they would give me some information and then send me to the next family member. I will continue to look up my family history and what it means, especially in Apalachicola. Why do people that I don't even know recognize me and the legacy that my family has? It's definitely something I will explore.

This last email is from my Aunt April but I cropped it so the password and user name would not show.
