What I would have done differently

Had I more funds and a gallery space, I would have had some changes to my project. First of all, I would have had a full bed and frame setup. I would have really good speakers built into the frame to make it sturdier. I would also have the speakers spread out underneath the bed so the sound would surround the mattress.

I would also have the dreams play from different speakers instead of them all sounding the same.

And finally, I would like to have completely covered the mattress in markings.

Last minute update...

Project is installed.
As I've said before, the project will illustrate the divergent relationship my sister and myself are currently going through by showing two pants/shirt wardrobes (one mine, the other my sister) installed with a sound system. The sound system will play a layered conversation between my sister and myself, providing the viewer with an idea of the playful, sometimes nonsensical nature of our talks. The speakers will be placed in the necks of each others' shirts, facing each other. Each pants legs will be split into strips and nailed to the opposite walls, symoblizing the various differences between sis and me, as well as the different paths and behaviors the two of have recently embarked on.

sketch

developing project

alright, so i looked over my stream of consciousness writing and noticed certain words that stood out to me, words that depicted emotions, feelings like doubt, and nouns such as people that were repeated over and over again in my writings. now that i have picked these words out, i'm sort of stuck because now i'm thinking about the project i'm working in jack's class and the words are connected through meaning...........so i think i need to steer away from this thought. so i'm really turning towards this idea of printing on vellum and having the words be highlighted with lines connecting........i'll have sketches of what i am planning on doing. i also want to blow this up, like big.......maybe, and i want to use possibly a clear transparency to draw the lines to each section. if i could print all of this in transparency that would be awesome too. maybe since i have this love for type i may play around with my writings, i'm still not sure if i want to keep the writings i made or type them out and have them express my feelings. i guess we'll see right?
